Big Band Special
Presented by Trevor Sadler
Big Band History & Music
If you love Big Band – Trevor Sadler’s your man!
Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton and Glen Miller – just some of the great names you may encounter if you tune into Channel Radio’s Big Band Special each Sunday afternoon at 1.00. But great music is just one part of this show’s appeal. Trevor Sadler, from St Mary’s Bay, brings his great passion and extensive knowledge to life when speaking about the music he loves and admires.
The story behind the music is often as rich as the sounds you will hear as Trevor takes you behind the scenes – while often slipping in the odd fascinating personal anecdote of close encounters with the greats of the genre.
There is a close connection with jazz and big band drumming too. Trevor’s father and brother both played in popular amateur dance bands in their day, introducing him to music from a very young age.
